Frequently Asked Questions

What speech therapy services do you offer?

I provide in-home speech therapy services in Alameda and the surrounding cities. I work with children of all ages. I’m particularly interested in emerging language, articulation, pre-literacy skills, and social communication.

What does a typical speech therapy session look like?

Speech therapy sessions will look and sound a lot like fun and games! After completing the initial evaluation and developing speech therapy goals and a treatment plan, I bring a variety of activities, including toys and games, to your house. The first session is typically child-led as I learn how to best interact with your child. I use positive reinforcement to encourage the child to improve his or her communication skills. When children are happy and comfortable, they’re more likely to make progress.

Do you work with children on the Autism spectrum?

Of course! I have a lot of experience working with children on the Autism spectrum, from early-stage communicators to high-level social skills. Some of my most rewarding experiences as a speech therapist have been helping children on the Autism spectrum communicate their wants and needs and connect with their families and friends.

Do you take insurance?

While I’m happy to provide a progress report and treatment plan that you can give to your insurance company to seek reimbursement from them directly, I do not currently directly bill insurance companies.
